AlertAssist Basic Description:

"AlertAssist" Apps are alert and safety applications that can be used to keep you alert/awake (interval alarm), or to alert you, or to alert someone for you, if you are in danger or if you need help.

It is a mobile interpretation of the "Dead Man's Switch".

AlertAssist Basic is the mid-level version of this App. It acts like a timer that resets (or turns off) every time the device's screen is touched. The timer has a countdown siren and an alarm siren. Failing to touch the device's screen during the countdown, triggers off the alarm (louder).

AlertAssist Basic acts like a screen saver on a personal computer, it runs in the background. The user has full control over any functionality (on/off) and any setting (customizable intervals of time, alarm period, ringtones and volume, phone number to be contacted, custom message).

When the mobile device stays inactive for the preset period (idle time), the first chosen reminder siren goes off, for a preset amount of time. Touching the device's screen resets the time count to zero and restarts the process of counting the idle time. But failing to touch the device's screen while this countdown is going off, triggers the second chosen alarm siren, usually with a higher pitch, to try to catch the user's attention. Again, failing to touch the device's screen while the second alarm is going off, triggers an automatic text message (SMS) alert to be sent out, with a customizable personal message, to any preset phone number of the user's choice (family, friend, neighbor...). The text message can contain any message or help request like "Call me" or "I need help" or "Check on me" or "Call 911 Please" or "Wake me up" or "Remind me of..." etc.
