Heart care tips provide useful info to reduce the threat of heart disease to you. Heart Disease is an umbrella term that is used to describe many different conditions that affect the heart muscle and its function. •Hypertension is referred to as the “silent killer” because it has no outright symptoms. If left uncontrolled it can lead to a stroke, heart attack, heart failure, or kidney failure. The only way to know about hypertension is to have it checked regularly by your physician.
•Heart Attacks are the result of a blocked artery that cannot deliver oxygenated blood to the heart muscle, therefore starving the muscle. The starvation leads to chest pain that is commonly referred to as angina. If not treated immediately, the heart muscle can actually die in the affected area.
Also, Heart disease is not just a man’s disease. Heart attack, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases are devastating to women, too. In fact, coronary heart disease, which causes heart attacks, is the leading cause of death for American women. Many women believe that cancer is more of a threat, but they are wrong. Nearly twice as many women in the United States die of heart disease and stroke than from all forms of cancer, including breast cancer.
